Shannon

Golf is still the game for Shannon ? and she’s getting good at it too! With her game in full swing, Shannon seemed unstoppable in her journey to keep it off after Taking It Off. That is until she landed a wonderful, new, full-time position just three weeks after the end of the show ? a sit down job. Even though Shannon has not put all of the weight back on, she admits to some relapse. While not currently on a program, Shannon intends to start one again in the near future. As she says,

"Instead of dropping off the wagon, I was just dragged by the wagon."

On how has being a participant on Taking It Off affected her life:
"I’ve been recognized all across Canada and it’s been positive ? absolutely positive," said Shannon about her celebrity status. "I was (at a restaurant) in Vancouver for the golf championships in September and the waitress was practically squealing. It was like listening to a soap opera. She knew every single episode and every moment and that was just a waitress at midnight in Vancouver."

What has been the effect of the show on your self-esteem?:

"It’s made me more comfortable in my own skin," said Shannon, who also received a boost of confidence from her accomplishments on the show.

Advice for Taking It Off II participants?:

"Never get comfortable with where you are. Enjoy the struggle," reflects Shannon. She also has some advice on a certain myth applied to weight loss, "Everybody says it takes 28 days to form a habit. That’s not true. If it’s a bad habit then I would say 48 hours or less. I’ve tried many things for 28 days and none of the good things kicked in, only the bad ones."

Would you do it again?:
"In a heartbeat," said Shannon. "I loved it! (The show) gave me an opportunity to meet people ? wonderful people."
